Our client has a long history of construction in the DRC going back almost 100 years. It has remained one of the major construction players in the country and has built a large portion of the DRC's civils infrastructure over the decades.
They are now looking for a highly competent Project Manager who will report direct to the Technical Director and initially work on a US$200m mine development project. The work will include earthworks, local roads, office and workshop reticulation, concrete structures, but will exclude mining works (quarrying, shaft-sinking).
The ideal person would have around 10-15 years postgrad experience (with 3+ years in charge) on projects of US$20m or more with duration of 9+ months.
The Project Manager will report direct to the Technical Director and will have Site Engineers and Supervisors reporting to him.
The Project Manager will be located on site close to Kolwezi in the DRC.
The company will provide appropriate accommodation for the manager and his spouse or partner and the remuneration is highly negotiable to attract the right person. The remuneration will be tax free (the company will pay all local taxes), housing and flights and the normal expat benefits will be provided by the company.
The position will be a permanent appointment and the company will negotiate a very generous vacation structure to suit the individual.
